AFD100 Collectors Edition

Marshall Amplification, in collaboration with guitar legend Slash, is pleased to announce the release of the AFD100 Special Collectors Edition.

After the huge success of the limited edition AFD100 in 2010 and 2011, the Marshall Design team wanted to take things a step further. Although attention to detail has always been paramount in all Marshall Products, it was felt such a unique collaboration was worthy of an extra batch of ultra limited edition collector units. The UK made AFD100SCE is strictly limited to 100 units worldwide.

Mr. Browntone

The general design and internal electronics of the AFD100SCE still represent everything from the original AFD concept which was meticulously designed between the Marshall R&D team and Slash to recreate the classic guitar tone from Guns N Roses’ classic debut album Appetite For Destruction. The amp has two ‘modes’ or gain stages; #34 for that classic Slash crunch, and AFD for that unmistakeable, fuller, rich tone. There is also a full EQ section, high/low sensitivity inputs, master volume and the incredible ‘Electronic Power Attenuation’, allowing you to adjust the overall output from 100 watts gradually down to 0.1 watt. Finishing these awesome features off is a 6550 valve power stage, and self biasing feature with valve fault LED lights.

There is no other product out there in the market that will give guitarists the ability to sound so close to Slash’s tone, and this has already been proved with many happy AFD100 owners globally.

Appetite for Attention

The AFD100SCE is an example of one of the finest looking amplifiers ever produced by the skilled craftsmen at Marshall. The materials incorporated into the aesthetics of the amplifier truly make it one of a kind; firstly, the amp is covered in a high specification black snakeskin vinyl covering. The front and rear panels are both highly polished stainless steel, with all panel markings laser etched. Complimenting this styling is silver piping and beading throughout, and bespoke design chrome ventilation and rear grille.

If this wasn’t enough, each amplifier is individually numbered, which features in detailed etching on the front panel, and on a rear panel plaque which has also been individually hand signed by Slash himself.

Anything Goes

The AFD100SCE also comes with a host of extras reflecting the speciality of the package. These consist of an AFD black vinyl dust cover, a UK made silver speaker cable, registration for a limited edition personalised work shirt. There is also an ATA rated custom made flight case, a stainless steel ‘mud flap girl’ logo to customize a 4x12 cabinet, and documents including a certificate of authenticity hand signed by Jim Marshall and the entire Marshall AFD project team.

The AFD100SCE is surely one of the most collectable packages Marshall has ever released. Production is starting shortly, and shipping will commence from October 2011.
