Research shows most guitarists own three instruments :
Data from a survey of 3,500 people who have purchased guitars in the last 12 months reveal that guitarists have a penchant for collecting guitars. Just how many has always been a source of conjecture. With this research, it has shown that only 18% of buyers stop with one instrument.
The most common number of guitars owned is three as reported by 29% of the respondents in this survey. The survey also revealed that 14% of the respondents own five or more instruments. A complete breakout appears in the chart above. Not surprisingly, solid body acoustics lead the way in popularity followed closely by 6-string acoustics.
So why stop at only one?
